What do you get like without caffeine?!

Question:

What do you get like without caffeine?

I don't know if this question has ever been asked but I get headaches, sleepy and irritable without Caffeine. Sometimes even fluish symptoms. So what are you like if there was no coffee or what ever caffeinated drink you drink left? What would happen if you had to go without Caffeine (impossible to me)? If you have given up Caffeine then what did you used to be like without Caffeine. Thanks Della

Answers:
Caffeine is an addictive drug that has side effects for people who try and quit cold turkey. You can limit these effects by slowing cutting back before you quit. It is not quite as addictive as tobacco, but it is not easy to stop. Personally, I love it.

I got this from Wikipedia "Because caffeine is primarily an antagonist of the central nervous system's receptors for the neurotransmitter adenosine, the bodies of individuals who regularly consume caffeine adapt to the continual presence of the drug by substantially increasing the number of adenosine receptors in the central nervous system. This increase in the number of the adenosine receptors makes the body much more sensitive to adenosine, with two primary consequences.[44] First, the stimulatory effects of caffeine are substantially reduced, a phenomenon known as a tolerance adaptation. Second, because these adaptive responses to caffeine make individuals much more sensitive to adenosine, a reduction in caffeine intake will effectively increase the normal physiological effects of adenosine, resulting in unwelcome withdrawal symptoms in tolerant users."

i stooped having coffee it was easy

you will feel like that for a while. its the same with a lot of things your body gets used to. stick with it and you will feel much better with caffeine.

i have never had any caffeine in my diet. I only really drink water! I know if i ever start drinking it, it will probably be difficult to stop!

Sounds like you are addicted to caffeine. I had the same problem. After researching CAFFEINE ADDICTION on the web I decided to try to give it up. I felt tired and sluggish for a few days but I concentrated on eating proper foods and it got better

For me I guess I am fortunate. I do not get any side effects with or without it. However I know a few people who get like you. The reason being that the caffiene is a stimulant and you body becomes addicted to it and without it it is kind of like going through withdrawls.nothing is impossible. try mixing a little decaf with the regular until you get an all decaf mix. Coffee just as good but no side effects if you do not have any.

I used to get really bad panick attacks & palpitations becos I used 2 drink lots of coffee..since stopping to take caffeine, I hardly get them & don't get palpitations either...
I only have decaf coffee now & tea & avoid all colas etc
I saw a test done on this on TV &these symptomes u described are normal... after a few days or maximum a week, they'll be gone.
I found stopping caffeine didn't do anything to me, if you expect it, it'll make it worse though.

Slowly cut back on your caffeine Della by mixing some decaff in a jar with the coffee you normally drink, then gradually decrease the amount of caffeinated coffee and increase the decaff. I believe if you do it this way you will find the experience totally stress free.

It's what I had to do about 7 years ago because ordinary coffee was giving me the symtoms you described as well as heart palpitations.

Good luck to you - I am certain you will actually feel much healthier when you have made the change.

When I gave up caffeine I just suffered from headaches. I took paracetamol; the headaches went away. After a week I didn't need the paracetamol any more

I gave up caffeine because it makes me completely hyperactive. Mind you, I used to drink up to 20 cups of coffee a day and get the shakes. You'll find the headaches and stuff go away after a couple of days when the stuff's flushed from your system. The best thing I found was that I started to sleep properly at night, getting off quickly and sleeping all the way through.

Welcome to the world of caffeine withdrawal. Personally, instead of caffeine, I drink the Xs energy drink caffeine-free versions. The energy boost actually comes from the B12 (4900% MDR) and they are sugar-free, no carbs and taste great.
