Is chlorinated water bad for drinking?!

Question:

Is chlorinated water bad for drinking?

My town used chlorine to treat their water, including drinking water. Is this bad for you in small amounts?

Answers:
It depends how much is included in the water. Much more than 1mL per Gallon is too much and could cause you harm. Any less is okay, as long as the water has been treated in a way that can't harm you otherwise.

All tap water has chlorine in it as this kills any germs which maybe be found in the water. No its not bad for you. There is only a small amount in the water you are drinking. If you are worried about it you can buy a water filter. However people have been drinking tap water for many many years and Ive never heard of it having a detrimental effect on anyone. :-)

no. but if it tastes and smells like chlorine you can get a BRITA FILTER and itll take the taste and smell away. TARGET and other stores sell them.

I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but i don't really drink chlorinated water, but then the other day i started drinking it again and i puked out some yellow stuff. really nasty!!!!
So if you don't normally drink tap water or chlorinated water, don't or else it will make u sick, otherwise if u are used to it then its OK.

hey buddy dont be afriad, chlorinated water in small amount is not bad for health.
if u r so careful then bye some watr purification system.

No, it's fine - most towns do it. Chlorine really won't do you much harm, unless you're drinking something like pool water on a constant basis. And that will just give you stomach ache.

If it bothers you, get a filter. My town adds chlorine to the water and I can't stand the taste

The chlorine purifies it. If I am right the purified bottled water is also treated with chlorine hence purified. The have been doing it for years to prevent microorganisms form getting into our systems. They used to add flouride too. Most pplaces stopped because they found it did more harm than good to our teeth.Drink in good health but if you are worried drink mineral or spring in the bottles.
