Hi,
you have some slightly confusing answers to your question...I don't think it is deliberate, but none of the answers are actually correct (and don't answer your question). English Breakfast tea is made wholly from Assam tea. The words are totally interchangeable in India.
Coincidentally, despite the general Englsh habit of taking tea with milk and sugar, Assam tea is far better suited to drinking without either addition.
Many of the 'traditional' English tea sellers, Typhoo, Double D, Brooke Bond, P G Tips, etc. blend and mix several varieties of tea together so they can maintain a regular and identifiable 'brand name taste' Nothing wrong with this, of course, but a better quality of tea can be experienced by choosing 'one leaf varieties' (which includes Earl Grey...but I don't favour that, it is far too 'smoky' for me)

Hmmmm not really the essential ingredient in a full English but there are all different types (cant believe I'm actually writing about types of tea) but so long as its hot, then each to their own
