Tea, of course, and I'm pretty sure it's the same material used in coffee filters, just thinner.

if u mean the bags that the floor sweepings[dusty tea] r kept in, i THINK PAPER

Tea bag paper is related to paper found in milk and coffee filters. It is made with a blend of wood and vegetable fibers. The vegetable fiber is bleached pulp abaca hemp, a small plantation tree grown for the fiber, mostly in the Philippines and Colombia. Abaca hemp is the longest/strongest papermaking fiber available, surpassing even Douglas fir. Heat-sealed tea bag paper usually has a heat-sealable thermoplastic such as PVC or polyproplyene, as a component fiber on inner side of the teabag surface.

a combination of paper and fibres from the abaca plant

some are made of gauze, some are made of paper that is sealed with a heat seal machine...

from a plant then put in bags, all the best

My father would never allow tea bags in our house. He was convinced that they caused cancer as he did with flavoured crisps.

If it is true what we read about the contents of tea bags are the remnants of tea leaves and are swept up from the floor.

This might have been the case once but would they get away with it now

Cheese cloth a type of mesh cloth.. You can buy it at most hard stores. I suppose you want to make your own tea bags
cause you buy the loose tea and you don't like the mess that
can make!

A tea bag is a small, porous silk bag with tea inside that is used for brewing tea. It consists of two parts, the tea and the bag. The tea remains inside the bag as the tea is brewed, making it easier to dispose of without making a mess.

The first tea bags were made from hand-sewn silk muslin bags and tea bag patents of this sort exist dating as early as 1903. First appearing commercially around 1904, tea bags were successfully marketed by tea and coffee shop merchant Thomas Sullivan of New York, who shipped his tea bags around the world. Modern tea bags are usually made of paper fiber.

I suppose tea in the bag is grounded tea and bag are made from very porous paper
