Fizzy drinks question?!

Question:

Fizzy drinks question?

Its a silly question really but im intriged to know why, When you shake a bottle of half filled fizzy drink does it lose its fiz and go flat? Why does this happen

Answers:
If the bottle has been opened already, some of the fizz or carbonation had already escaped. Even if you replace the crown cap (or twist-off cap), it does not seal the bottle completely and hence some amount of carbonation still escapes. When you shake the bottle, the agigation will cause the fizz to expand and hence more will escape through the microfissures between the crown cap and the bottle.

Because you are taking the carbonation out. It will happen with anything that is carbonated.
