Kiwi Lemonade

Ingredients:
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 cups water
5 kiwis, peeled
1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 10 big lemons, including pulp but not seeds)

Directions
In a pitcher, mix the sugar and water until the sugar dissolves. In a blender or food processor, puree the kiwi. Add the pureed kiwi and lemon juice to the pitcher and stir to combine. To serve, pour 1/4 to 1/3 cup of base into a glass and fill with water.

Makes base for 12 servings.

Sparkling Mango Limeade

Can be prepared in 45 minutes or less but requires additional unattended time.

3 ripe mangoes (about 2 1/2 pounds total)
1 1/2 cups fresh lime juice
1 1/2 cups water
1 cup superfine sugar plus additional to taste
seltzer water or club soda
Garnish: lime wedges

Peel mangoes and cut flesh from pits. In a blender purée mango flesh with lime juice, water, and 1 cup sugar until smooth. Force purée through a sieve into a pitcher or bowl, pressing on any solids. Chill purée, covered, until cold and then stir in additional sugar. (Purée will be slightly thick. Limeade purée keeps, covered and chilled, 2 days.)

Fill tall glasses with ice and add enough limeade purée to fill each glass by three quarters. Top off drinks with seltzer water or club soda, stirring well, and garnish with lime wedges. Makes about 5 1/2 cups limeade purée.

Plum-Blueberry Spritzers

Bay leaves lend this spritzer a spicy fragrance that offsets the sweetness of the blueberries and plums.

5 cups water
1 cup fresh ripe blueberries
3 ripe black plums, pitted and cut into eighths
8 fresh or dried bay leaves, plus extra for garnish
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
8 cups cold club soda, for serving

1. Bring the water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Add the blueberries, plums, 8 bay leaves and sugar, cover and boil over high heat, stirring, until the juice is reduced to about 3 cups and the plums are tender, about 20 minutes. Strain the mixture though a fine sieve, pressing lightly with a spatula to extract the juice; reserve the bay leaves. Return the juice to the pan, add the reserved bay leaves and simmer over moderate heat until reduced to 2 cups, about 10 minutes. Discard the bay leaves; let the syrup cool.

2. For each drink, gently whisk 1/4 cup of the plum-blueberry syrup into 1 cup of cold club soda, pour into a glass, garnish with a bay leaf and serve.

MAKE AHEAD The syrup can be refrigerated for 1 week.
Makes 8 Drinks

I like to do 1/2 iced tea, 1/2 lemonade and a splash of pomegrante juice. Its very refreshing. And non-alcoholic daquiris are always popular. Kids especially like them if you put them in a fun glass. You can buy plastic margarita glasses at any party supply store.

Iced tea punch. It's really rather simple, just take a can of frozen lemonade to three cans of fresh cooled Lipton tea. Serve over ice. If you like your iced tea with a lot of lemon in it, you'll like this.

You can vary the types of tea and/or you could try a berry juice mixer.

24 oz. pineapple juice

brew a pot of REALLY strong coffee and let it cool, then refrigerate. (make it 3-4 times as strong as you would normally)....basically you have made a coffee concentrate and can make 'mock espresso' drinks- it's lovely over ice with water to taste, or by adding cream and sugar, chocolate syrup- all of the starbucks drinks you pay 4-5 dollars for- easy to make at home.

also, throw concentrate and coffee in the blender with sugar to make a coffee frappe- add a little condensed milk or cream for a nice, frothy, 'frappuccinno' type of drink.

cheap and easy!

(nice, too, to make coffee ice cubes. i do that all summer long)

At the grocery store they have mixes for drinks they have no alcohol in them in some countries you may have to check the label to make sure.

Get the strawberry flavor
in a blender pour 1/2 cup of frozen strawberries
two table spoons of fresh lime juice (it has to be fresh)
1 cup of ice
and enough of the mix to make it tunnel when on it is best to put it on pulse to crush the ice

For the lime juice get a bunch of limes and squeeze them ahead strain the pulp and seeds
keep it in an air tight bottle

if you have some one who wants alcohol you can add a shot of vodka or tequila

you can get margarta mix again get the kind with no alcohol
add one cup of ice to the blender
two table spoons of fresh lime juice
and enough of the mix to make it tunnel

to make the glass look nice and to bring out the flavor of the lime

take a wide rim glass with you finger rub a little of lime juice on the very top of the out side of the rim
pour sea salt on a small plate and turn the glass upside down on the plate rub it all aroung to get the salt all the way around on the glass.

it is best to let the glass sit for several hours to let the salt harden if someone is there who can not have salt or does not like it give them a straw

for the raspberry flavor
do the same as for the strawberry but use frozen raspberries instead

to any of theese if you have some one who wants they can add vodka or tequila
