Does carbonated water really dehydrate you?!

Question:

Does carbonated water really dehydrate you?

If it does, how?

Answers:
it doesn't DEhydrate you, but due to the sodium used to make it so sparkly and delicious, the hydration effect is diminished a bit...plus you tend to drink less than if you were drinking still water because you feel refreshed quicker. if you are really trying to hydrate yourself, still water is the way to go, but carbonated water will not detract from that process in the way alcohol or sodas will...

No, carbonated water doesn't dehydrate you. Carbonated water will strip your body of phosphorous, however, which is essential in the metabolization of nutrients.

Caffeine will dehydrate you, though.

Affect your throat coz you tend to feel thirsty again.

well it does not hydrate you like reg. water coz of the sodium it contains

no only alcoholic drinks will.

it doesn't - it's just water with more fizz
