Question:

I'm a coffee addict but I'm horrible at making it. How do you make your coffee?

Any tips?

Answers:
It isn't an exact science because everyone has a personal taste. However, buying a whole-bean coffee that is roasted locally will make your coffee taste better without a doubt. There is a HUGE difference between that and some ground, name-brand from the grocery store. Then you have to buy a coffee grinder and grind it fresh every time you make a pot. You can get a cheapy or a bigger expensive one that will hold your beans as well. Grind one tablespoon of beans for every two cups of water. Also, if you have city water and it's chlorinated, you may want to consider a filter because that will affect taste as well. Good luck :)

I throw a scoop of my decaf into my filter, put that into the pot, pour in the water, and wait for the results. I love the creamer, not the coffee so much. I am currently indulging in Carmel Chocolate Cream. It is DELISH!!! Hope this helps!!!

I have an 8 cup perculator. I put 4 level scoops on and plug er in..I love Whole foods markets Pleasant morning buzz....coffee that is

pi.ss in a cup call that sh.it hypnotic

I'm a meth addict who's horrible at making that.

Any tips?

Get a decent espresso machine - the most expensive you can afford!

Then it's easy, quick and strong!

I think buying quality whole-beans and a coffee grinder is the key. NOTHING beats the taste of coffee made just minutes after it's freshly ground. It's the best $20 investment you'll ever make.

Put creamer...
Powdered milk...
Sugar... Lots of it!!! (Depends if you want it sweet, much)
and the COFFEE!

buy instant 3 in1 coffee. that's what i usually drink. it works for horrible coffee-makers.

@Elizabeth -- do not endanger your mortal soul by delving into the mysterious black arts involved in the concoction of coffee. save yourself! buy an automatic coffee maker!

@Faded -- remember, always wear an asbestos suit. wouldn't want to blow yourself up.

i'm an addict too. 3 n 1 is the only solution.

filtered cold water- 3 cups. pour into braun coffee maker. add filter unbleached to basket and add 3 level tablespoons Green Mountain coffee (any flavor) (my favorite is breakfast decaf)flip switch and enjoy.
My step grandmother used to measure her coffee in a basket of a stove top percolator and stir a whole egg into it- shell and all. Put fresh cold water in pot and brewed for 8 minutes. Oh my god it was sooo delicious and a deep red color.Way too complicated for me first thing in the am

buy a french press. it's sounds fancy but you can get one @Target, ikea, ross, etc. Cost is anywhere from $6 - $30 depending on size/style. it looks like a coffeee pot with a plunger in it. how to use it: boil water, put desired amnt of coffee into press, add boiling water, let sit for 3 min, slowly push down plunger and voil?! (easy but looks impressive plus makes a great pot of coffee) always use arabica beans - never robusto. enjoy

I love using a French Press! Easy and quick to do, especially if you have a water cooler w/ the "hot water" spigot. Just measure out 3 heaping Tablespoons of coffee for a 6 cup press, then add the hot water and fill to 1/2 inch from the top of the carafe. Stir, place plunger and cap onto carafe without plunging and let brew for 5 minutes. Press the plunger down and then pour. Makes 6 tiny 4 oz cups (the styrofoam type) of coffee or if you do like I do, use those huge 12 oz coffee mugs. Makes 2 big mugs of coffee!

I use 1 tablespoon of coffee per 6 oz of water.
