Why is it so hard to find good Darjeeling teas in Singapore?!
Why is it so hard to find good Darjeeling teas in Singapore?
I mean really 'good' Darjeelings teas. Not tea bags or the regular supermarket range. I hate buying them online. They cost too much and takes years to arrive.
Help!
Answers:
supply and demand! now, if you were to go through a business to get these or for a large i mean large gathering, then you will get people coming to you! otherwise, people in your area may not be interested so the manufactuor is not interested in making no money in your area! Online would be your best bet!

above answerer is correct...
i prefer peppermint green tea to darjeeling... don't know many people who love darjeeling too... so if there aren't enough buyers, they wouldn't sell it... have you tried to find a substitute yet? :D
When I worked there I found it to be plentiful in the Indian markets all over the city, most Indian teas even the one's used for "String Tea" are either a blend of Assam and Darjeeling, straight it has a little bit of a smoky flavour, so like teas from Ceylon, China and India, there generally blended.
I know since I have been back here in Canada, Twinnings does sell a straight Darjeeling both in bags and loose, maybe find a retailer or English based food store, there could be a place to find in as a stand alone brand. But Brook Bond Yellow or Blue label is just as good and I used ad drank in Singapore.
Hi there,
I'm quite surprise that from this thread, there are many tea lovers who are still unaware of this gourmet tea boutique @ Millenia Walk shopping mall (near Suntec city).
It is the only retail store in Singapore that sells very high quality Darjeeling, Assam and Earl Greys.
In my opinion, if you are a black tea lover, you mustn't miss this place.
Hope you find your darjeeling soon. http://www.tconnection.com.sg
