Where is all the Root Beer?
Years ago you could buy root beer in MacDonalds, and I for one enjoyed it on occasion. It has not been available in the UK for some time now. Why not? Is it still available in the US? Can I import it?

I used to love root beer, always made me think that it would be what Germolene would taste like, although I never actually confirmed that by trying! I too miss it from MacDonald's, but you can still get it in cans in some of the supermarkets, but I find the best place to get it is usually little corner shops. A friend of mine once brought back a load of Root Beer sweets from USA they were shaped like little barrels.
Root beer is in any store, to make it taste more like good old timey root beer, add a little vanilla syrup.
The reason why Mcdonalds got rid of Root Beer is to make way for Fanta and Still Fanta.

Actually i've had this problem too. I used to be able to go to the local vending machines to buy some, but now they are gone!
They've moved and now only pepsi products remain. No cola, no rootbeer, just mountain dew and pepsi!

US McDonalds have also gotten rid of rootbeer a few years ago as well. However, root beer is still widely available in supermarkets, convenient store and other restaurants.

You need to go to a market and get it in bottles. most pplaces do not put it in the dispenser any more. not a big seller i guess. we still have it in some places.

I looove rootbeer too! I think the US have much nicer things than here, I have dreams sometimes about travelling there & buying lots of candy & root beer etc!!
Asda sells one which is not bad really, it's in the canned(6 pack) section...
Avoid Sainsbury's one, it tastes awful.(they do one in a bottle)
unless they have changed it.
Waitorse do one which is not bad & but I donot like it.
tesco donot sell it lst time I checked...
Some department stores like Bentalls (but they don't have branches everywhere) sell A&W root beer for about ￡1....
ur only other option is Ebay which is very expensive...
Sorry to hear about your difficulties finding rootbeer......but it reminds of home and having a slice of pizza and rootbeer soda....those just go together so well (from BROOKLYN, NY).....I live in Metro DC now and once you had NY pizza your are spoiled for life LOL
