What is the deal with black tea?!

Question:

What is the deal with black tea?

I do not have to drink very much black tea before I feel nauseous, but I can drink black coffee all day. What is it in black tea that makes a person nauseous?
Does black tea make you nauseous?

Answers:
ya the tannic acid it does that
to me if I drink it in the morning
or on an empty stomache.
try it weeker and than day by
day a little stronger.
or add a little bit of milk.

no, it doesnt make me nauseous. but i usually drink green tea.

Funny... I have the same feeling about coffee! The smell just gives me a headache + nausea.
But I've been drinking black tea ever since I was a kid (2-3 years old).
1. You've got to know how to make good tea. The art of making tea is far beyond throwing a tea bag into boiling hot water!
2. Don't drink old tea. And by old I mean a tea that has been sitting for more than 10-15 minutes.
3. Tea is good for your health...specially black tea helps prevent cancer. I don't know about coffee!

hmm, that's strange... maybe your body just can't take it... i like black tea with milk and a little brown sugar, must have either milk or some sugar. not by itself... i also can't take black coffee by itself...

if you took it on an empty stomach, i would say black coffee would actually have a worse effect on you than black tea cause of the acidity... maybe you change the brand of your black tea??? or add milk and sugar next time... or just stick to coffee :) all i know is when i take coffee on an empty tummy, i get terrible gastric pains--and i don't get any pains when i take tea on an empty tummy... the doctor said it was the acid in coffee... well, everyone's unique :D

it help u stay awake if u don't have milk in it

Opposite with me. I never put milk in tea (makes me sick), but always do in coffee. I think it's a personal thing.
