Mark Pendergrast had published what he discovered from the Coca-Cola Archives the original formula for Coke in his book titled:

For God, Country and Coca-Cola: The Definitive History of the Great American Soft Drink and the Company that Makes It

In addition to the Coca leaves and Cola nuts extracts, vanilla, lime, citric acid, etc. the secret merchandise 7x contains the following oils for the flavor:
orange
cinnamon
lemon
coriander
nutmeg
neroli
and alcohol to mix the above oils

However the only addictive ingredients are perhaps caffeine and the sugar (or HFCS now) for those with like sweet beverages.

The real secret ingredient for Coke is really the brand itself - which for over 121 years, the beverage is unmistakenly Coke. The company has been a pioneer in the marketing of a beverage from a small fountain drink to a global mega brand.

It is said that the manufacturer bought tons of coca leafs in Bolivia to make Coca Cola. Bolivia said they shipped the order. The company always denied it so there is no actual proof. However, the question is...why is coke so adictive.

Here is a site that shows the original recipe (no coca) and then the one they use now. I was not able to copy and paste the original, that's why I just give you the URL:
