Is mountain Dew Bad for your teeth?!
Is mountain Dew Bad for your teeth?
I actually hate Mountain Dew, but I could have sworn that someone told me a long time ago that Mountain Dew is the worst soda to drink because it is bad for your teeth. We know all sodas are bad for your teeth. But is Mountain Dew really the worst? My boyfriend used to be a mountain Dew freak before I met him, but ever since I told him that its bad for your teeth, he does not touch mountain Dew. I'd feel real bad if it wasnt even the case. HEHE

Yes, it very bad. you will get a yellowish tinge to your teet if you drink a lot of it. and it's filled with chemicals and preservatives that are like battery acid.
It *is* bad for your teeth(not ot mention your health!) but I dont think it's the worst..
Oooooh yeah. If it's not the worst, it's up there. It has the highest sugar content, apparently, and the phosphoric acid just destroys anything that uses calcium.
The dentist I saw when I went to Navy Boot Camp removed all four of my wisdom teeth and three molars. He said, and I quote, "You like to sip on Mountain Dew through the day, don't you." When I said yes, he nodded and said, "That's why I can't save your molars." He, and a few other dentists, have told me that after drinking any soda (diet included) to swish the mouth with water to get the stuff off the teeth. Even before brushing, do a rinse with water.
I won't say it's the worst, though. Jolt, for example, advertises itself as having twice the sugar.
You gave him fantastic advice. It'd be even better if he didn't touch soda, any soda. Even diet is just as bad.
Regular or Diet, any sugar based soft drink or soda is not the best thing for you teeth or health, but as most of the US brands of Mountian Dew has caffeine in it, up here in Canada we use real sugar and no caffeine in the ones sold here, and the diet is sweetened with "Splenda" also.
all soda's are bad for your teeth but if you are gonna drink soda
rinse out your mouth with water afterwords so they don't mess up your teeth
I know there is more sugar and more caffiene in MD but as far as facts if it being worse on your teeth I never saw that. However it goes to reason that it would though because of the increase in caffiene, sugar and maybe acid of course the acid because of the citrus. Ok let me restate yes MD is worse for your teeth.
Mountain Dew like any other soda contains a lot of sugar - hence could cause cavities if you don't brush your teeth regularly. As for the food coloring used in Mt Dew, it's probably not as bad as cola drinks which contain dark caramel coloring.
Just swish frequently with water and brush your teeth!
yes
Well i dont think it does b/c i drink mountain dew all the time i'm like addicted, well actually i kinda am, but i have like perfect teeth. My teeth are straight, white, and pretty much perfect. i drink on average about 3 mountain dews a day and my dentist always brags on my teeth. Also one of my friends drinks mountain dew about as bad or maybe even worse than i do and he has gorgouse teeth! so i think that's just some old myth b/c i love Mountain Dew to death!!!!
