How do you make tea without using bags?!


Question:

How do you make tea without using bags?

I have been getting into brewing my own kinds of tea , mainly by adding things after the initial brewing , but certain kinds of ingreidiants cant be added after brewing such as orange blossom and ginger. How do I make tea without ( At least Im assuming thats how you make tea with solid ingriediants added in) using the bags? Do I put it through a strainer or something?

The commonest way of making tea using loose ingredients would put these into the pot with the water and then strain them out using a tea strainer when pouring into the cup. A less often used method involves a "tea egg", which is a device that has two hinged halves made of metal with small holes in them. You put the tea or other ingredients inside, then close the egg and use it in the pot to brew the tea, so not needing a strainer when pouring into the cup. You could also use a paper or cloth filter bag like those for coffee. I have seen a cloth bag used in that way in Malaysia.

Yeah exactly like you said. Mix the hot water with the tea and anything else that you want, then put through a very fine strainer. I learned this from this authentic guy named Uncle Gee in China Town SF.

You can steep whatever you like in the pot with your tea, then strain through a fine sieve. I have a small one that is just the size of a mug, it is on a handle. Look with the kitchen gadgets at any variety shop. Or, you can buy a tea strainer or tea ball.

You can put the ingredients/leaves inside of a tea pot with the boiling water. When it's time to have your tea, pour it through a strainer that is especially made to sit right atop your tea cup. Also, there are spoons that you can get at tea stores (such as Teavana), which you pour the ingredients/leaves into and then snap shut. You can then put the spoon into your cup, and take it out when you have achieved the level of steeping you would like.

Simply put tea leaves in teapot. Usually 1 teaspoon per person who is having tea, and 1 for the pot. add boiling water to fill teapot. Most teapots have a built-in strainer, or you can purchase a small strainer to hold over your cup when you pour tea. Let tea brew in teapot for a few minutes before pouring. Enjoy.

there is a bulblike container with holes and a small chain.. you put loose tea in there with spices, orange peel, lemon peel, ginger, etc... experiment to what you might like...

i use the mesh strainer or plastic one. old folks have used a cloth to squeeze it out. some still do, i recon. i would use a rag if i didn't have nothing else. some even use paper towells, my neighbor use paper towels. she older than me tho., ha.''

Tea Preparation ( 3 cups)

Boil 2/3 of Water if using Liquid Milk OR Boil 3 cups of Water.


case 1: Liquid Milk
Mix 1 Cup Milk in boiling water. Mix Sugar -3 tea Spoons.
Bring it to Boil. Lower the flame. put 11/2 of tea grains.

Let it Boil once. Put Ginger / Cardomom and keep it
in low flame for 1 min. Put Of the flame. Filter the Tea
in 3 cups. Sip Zip Zip !!!!!!!



case 2 : Powder milk.

Boil 3 cups of water. take out 1/2 cup and mix powder milk
in it. Put Ginger/ cardomom in water and let boil.
Lower the Flame. Put Hot milk mixture.
Stir well. Put Off the flame.
Filter in 3 cups. Sip Zip Zip

Maaannn.. you need to need to use some real bags. Make sure you squeese em real good too.

Quality tea bags are the key ingredient I think........OMG....Wait, I just looked at Abuser2's answer and I will no longer answer any questions having to do with tea........LOL

I usually boil tea leaves and filter it through metal/plastic filter. I had a friend from Poland who just boiled tea leaves in a glass with electric heating rod (tiny) and then she drank it in the same glass, the leaves remaining as sediment. This reduces need to clean pots!
