all diet drinks have artifical sweetners like saccharin. they have been shown to cause cancer. sugarless and suagr free candies and things also have that ingredient. also another chemical called aspartame (sp?)
edit: i just wanted to add that i actually saw a news report that things like equal and splenda also are bad for you.
That is true. There is Saccharin, artificial sweetener in the diet Pepsi. Saccharin has caused cancer in the research animals. If you read there is written on this artificial sweetener about causing cancer. All diet products that use Saccharin have potential to cause cancer. We now use Equal and Splenda. These two artificial sweeteners do not cause cancer and if the diet products have these two then no fear of cancer. Unfortunately most of the diet products still use Saccharin. I think that they use it because it is cheap.
Someone is right. The artificial sweeteners in Diet sodas do cause cancer..all of them; soda and sweeteners....

DIET PEPSI DOES NOT CAUSE CANCER AND NEITHER DO ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS! Those tests were conducted on rats over 30 years ago and have since been discredited. There are numerous carcinogens in literally everything you eat and drink. You have to consume an impossible amount to get sick. Those rats were given the equivalent to over 1000 bottles of soda a day. Scare tactics by the irrational, illogical types that bring you global warming and the like. Nothing to the hype. Drink up and enjoy!
