Coca-Cola was named in 1885 for its two original "medicinal" ingredients: extract of coca leaves and kola nuts. It was originally green and contained cocaine.

It got it's name from its original additive of Cocaine. This was in the days when Cocaine was not considered an illegal substance.

The original formula when the soda was created had Coca leafs (Coacaine) and kola nuts in it. The stuff was removed after the Pure Food and Drug act in the presidency of TR (Teddy Roosevelt)

that's just man made stuff, i recon. like everything else is.''

Coca Cola was first marketed as " the best cure for a hangover,"and early production contained trace amounts of coca leaves, which when processed, render cocaine.
