Are energy drinks really that bad for you?
I have heard that energy drinks are bad for you but never really knew why or if they really are.?

No energy drinks are not bad for you, it helps you get more energy that your body can give to you in the moring.and that 's why some people drink them a lot, they are really good for you.
They aren't really that bad for you if you just use them in moderation. If you drink a lot to stay awake longer, it will only make you more tired.
too much of ANYTHING is bad for u. Even if you drink too much milk or take too much vitamin c, they will have detrimental effects in the long run. Energy drinks are fine, here and there, but they contain such extreme amounts of vitamins and extracts that exceed the daily limit, that it's not a good idea to have too many or depend upon them to get u through a day.
It depends on the energy drink, to a certain extent.
Then again, there's more and more suspicion that ALL soft drinks are bad for you. Either you're consuming a lot of empty calories in the form of corn syrup or other high-glycemic liquids, or you're sucking down some chemical that's supposed to fool your tongue into thinking it's sugar. Neither seems to be the healthiest dietary choice.
The energy drink market has some that are not signicantly different from an ordinary cola in total stimulants. Others contain caffeine equivalent to four cups of strong coffee in one 12-ounce can. Kill off four of those cans in an hour, and you're likely to have chest pains even if caffeine in more natural amounts is not a problem for you.
So know what you're drinking, consume in moderation if you must, but think about how much healthier you'll be if you switch to iced herbal tea infused with some fruit juices, no sugar or sweetener added.

What is bad about most energy drinks is that they have a lot of caffeine and sugar contained in them. This is what gives you a "buzz" and then a "crash". This can be bad on your body.
If you are concerned about your health, you may want to consider an alternative. I drink an energy drink that is HEALTHY, works in minutes, lasts for several hours, and is much less expensive than most energy drinks.
