Lemonade recipe that's not tart?!

Question:

Lemonade recipe that's not tart?

This is the 2nd time I've tried to make lemonade from lemons and end up dumping in tons of extra water and sugar and it's still too tart. The base for this one was 1 cup water, 1 cup juice, 1 cup sugar.

Answers:
The secret to perfect lemonade is to start by making sugar syrup, also known as "simple syrup". Dissolving the sugar in hot water effectively disperses the sugar in the lemonade, instead of having the sugar sink to the bottom.

This recipe is more on the sweet side than tart...

INGREDIENTS
6 lemons
1 cup white sugar
6 cups cold water

DIRECTIONS
Juice the lemons to make 1 cup of juice. To make your labor easier, FIRMLY roll the lemons between your hand and counter top before cutting in half and juicing.

In a gallon pitcher combine 1 cup lemon juice, 1 cup sugar, and 6 cups cold water. Stir. Adjust water to taste. Chill and serve over ice.

It depends on how much lemonade that you're making. I usually make a gallon sized pitcher full. What I use is 1 package of Koolaid brand lemonade, 2 lemons ( Not lemon juice) 2 cups of sugar, then the remainder of water.
