Is green tea healthier without milk and honey/sugar?!

Question:

Is green tea healthier without milk and honey/sugar?

Answers:
Technically yes, but if it would make you enjoy it more I see no problem with a little milk and honey. Although it is commendable that you would strive to be healthier, you always needs to balance that against your quality of life.

I like it iced and sweetened with mandarin orange...maybe you could try that?

I heard that the antioxidant benefits (and others?) of green tea are neutralized when it is mixed with milk.

But really, this is not the forum to find hard & reliable info about health matters. Ask a doctor.

It is. Certain tastes, like bitter, stimulate the liver. Sweetening it changes that chemistry.

(Green) tea is heavily pesticided. It could be that you're diluting the pesticides more than the taste. This is one item where organic is absolutely worth the small extra cost. Your health will benefit and you could well find the taste more palatable. I can't drink non-organic green tea without milk, but do fine with organic.

It would definetely be healthier because you're leaving out the sugar. If you really wanted it sweetened, try some of that splenda stuff, or use the honey in a pinch. Milk is fine.

yes

Yes, but then it's plain. (yuk!)

Probably.

Green tea has no calories, but sugar and honey have loads.

It's more complicated for milk. Apparently adding milk may dilute some of tea's health benefits. You can read it in the article below.
