What's the deal with energy drinks, anyway?
Okay, I have never had an energy drink because I don't want to DIE from them. But anyway, I just want to know what they do to people and if they are bad or not. Oh yeah, and is it true there was an energy drink called Cocaine that killed someone? I know a lot of people who love energy drinks, but I just want to know more about them. Thanks!
Answers:
Most energy drinks have large amounts of sugar and caffeine in them, which give you a sense of a boost in energy. The down side is that after a couple of hours you come crashing down hard. You should not die from them unless you are sensitive to caffeine or sugar. The Cocaine killing someone is a Internet myth as far as I can find out. The best ones are ones like I drink which are Xs energy drinks, which have no sugar, no carbs, and caffeine levels the same as a cup of coffee. Xs gives you energy for B vitamins which gives you energy without the crash. They come in Eight flavors, with three in caffeine free styles.

The content in different energy drinks are different. Generally speaking, one is safe for an adult. I wouldn't give them to kids. I've taken them, primarily to stay awake. The tast is usually very tangy, and not really pleasant. I've not gotten any sort of buzz, per say, off of them, but they did put me kinda on edge and nervous. They may create a burning sensation in your stomach if taken on an empty stomach.
I've read about Cocaine, but I don't think that I've ever seen it on the store shelves. From what I've read, it does provide a similar sensation to cocaine. I wouldn't know even if I had tried Cocaine, because I've never tried cocaine. It is illegal now in many of the States (Cocaine the drink), but I don't think that it contains any controlled substances.
They're basically a larger dose of caffine than a person would usually experience. Drinking them sparingly shouldn't be too hazardous to your health or life. As for Cocaine, I've never heard of that drink....
Yes I have heard about the drink called cocaine dont know about them being killed. They do work for a while but some make you feel nervous or jittery.because of the caffeine . If coffee makes you feel weird energy drinks will do worse.
Just keep in mind that caffeine is a diuretic (causes you to urinate) and eventually dehydrates you which can make you tired so you can drink more, so you get dehydrated, so you drink more, so you get dehydrated....
Energy drinks are suppossed to give you more energy buy putting more caffeine in them than standard drinks like soda or coffee. Sometimes they also add other herbal ingredients that have the same effect on the body as caffeine. I have never heard of any one dying from an energy drink, but I have heard that if you mix it with alcohol it can make it harder to tell when to stop drinking because the "upper" effect masks the "downer" effect of alcohol. I don't personally like energy drinks because I think they taste awful, but I do know people that love them.
The main thing you should know about most popular energy drinks, is that they contain high amounts of sugar and caffeine. This is what gives you a "buzz" or "jolt" of energy then a "crash". If you think about it, this can really be hard on a person's body if they drink a lot of these drinks.
I found one that does not contain all the sugar and caffeine, works in minutes after I drink it, lasts for several hours, and is HEALTHY for me to drink. If you are concerned about your health, you may want to consider this drink as an alternative.
