I bought my water in those wending machines b4. After a while, the bottle became green around the edges and all around the borders. Why does tap water do that?

Because of the lead and metallic. Just like when a copper penny turns green after time. Just like the Statue of Liberty.

maybe the PH or chlorine contact with the plastic over time. No worry, unless it is mildew.

the water has microscopic bacteria that discriminates the water in several ways to change texture color and taste .

if the bottle becomes green its cuz the water has minerals in it and tap water doesnt usallyy turn green cuz it has florite
