How do you make coffee less bitter?!

Question:

How do you make coffee less bitter?

We have been using Starbucks ground coffee since Christmas and every time we make a pot, it's very bitter. We are using the correct amount of coffee and water, but it still tastes bitter. We've even cleaned the coffee maker (per manufacturer's instructions), but that hasn't helped either. This doesn't happen when we use other brands of ground coffee. Any suggestions (other than, "Don't use the Starbucks' coffee")?

Answers:
my friend swore by a little salt in her coffee grounds, just a little pinch in the basket b4 u closed it to brew

sprinkle a little salt in the coffee grinds when getting ready to brew

sugar and cream

I'm sorry to tell you, but Starbucks coffee is a very bitter product.

You said yourself it "doesn't happen when we use other brands".

Go get some samples from your local store and try some different brands out. I'm sure you'll find something you can enjoy that's less bitter.

I make coffee everyday at my work and all you need to do is add an extra cup of water to make the taste not so strong. Even though the suggested water amount on the coffee may not say so, it is just there suggestion or how they like it. I agree with you, i don't like my coffee strong eithier. Hopefully this will fix your problem.

Teast of coffee it's up to time you keeping coffe in bowlling water when you are make it . If you have handy coffee maker put 2 cup of coffe water and 2 tea spoons coffee any kind , then let water come to bowling same time that water start to bowling get off the heat and cover coffee maker by something about 30 seconds , then drink that coffee see how is teast.

Starbuck's is a bitter brew. Add a pinch of kosher salt and a healthy dash of cinnamon to the grounds. Try not to let the pot sit on the burner once it is brewed. Transfer it to an insulated carafe right away is best.

I am sorry to say I think its the coffee.
Starbucks is a very strong coffee to begin with so I think that is where you are getting the bitterness from.

It tastes bitter because its starbucks coffee! You need to add a lot of cream/milk to get rid of the bitter taste. If you dont like a lot of cream/milk, there's really nothing you can do.

try the pinch of salt and an extra filter or if you have a permanent filter add a paper one to it.
