Question:

Is drinking home brewed unsweetened iced tea bad for you?

i brew my own iced tea with just tea bags some time ill add a flavored one in the mix for flavor. is this drink bad for you??

Answers:
No, it is not bad for you. It is actually quite healthy, and it is cheaper than buying pre-made bottled ice tea.

No, actually it is quite healthful. Tea has long been known as a healthful drink rich in antioxidents. Brewing your own gives you control over the water and tea selection used.

no my duaghter drinks it all the time.and there is nothing wrong with her health.

It's fine! Much better than the canned stuff! If you're worried about caffeine, just switch to decaf tea bags or herb teas. I've always got a pitcher in the fridge!

that's the best iced tea! Yum!

I will add a bucn of tea bags in a container of water and let it brew out in the sun.
then I'll add ice, lemon and sugar to my glass.

Quite the opposite, besides the fact that you're not using any unhealthful sweetners, you're getting a good dose of antioxidants as well.

If you're drinking vast quantities of it, you might want to use decaf or herbal teas every now in case the level of caffeine is too much for your system.

Nope, its good for you.

No, I do the same thing. It's a lot better than the store bought stuff!

Tea is not bad for you -- especially if it's green tea (LOADED with anti-oxidants that boost your body's immune system!)! the only thing to make you cautious is the caffeine intake. You shouldn't be drinking all that caffeine all day everyday, so if you're fixing tea with caffeine then try to switch to de-caf or reduce the number of times you drink it each day. It can also badly stain your teeth if you do not brush after each time you drink any (coffee and dark sodas do too). I've never been the biggest fan of tea by itself, but chi tea with caramel is my favorite :)

It is very nourishing for you. My Dad brews relentlessly,,,,,,,,,calls it his "Drink-in' Whiskey" !! LOL !!

no!!!

anything in excess is bad. but I don't think just because it is home brewed makes it detrimental.

Nope, its actually better for you if you control the sweetener, etc.
