Why isn't there vanilla or chocolate sherbert?!

Question:

Why isn't there vanilla or chocolate sherbert?

There are lemon, orange, lime and raspberry flavored sherberts, there are Italian ices in lemon and other fruits as well as chocolate, so why isn't there a chocolate sherbert or a vanilla sherbert? Did you ever notice that sherbert doesn't get freezer burnt?

Answers:
sherberts are made from fruit and aren't like regular ice cream

sherbert is fruit.

sherbert is kinda like sorbet, so it's primarily a fruit desert.

You'll find chocolate as a sorbet, not a sherbert.

Sherbet is a frozen dessert made from iced sweetened fruit juice or puree.

Because sherbert is meant to be made with FRUIT.

I think that chocolate, all natural, is an acquired taste. Most people like the flavor of Hersheys or Double Dutch. Sherbert is a low-fat, almost natural, ice-cream sub. Check out the ingredients and look 'em up via google.
P.S.
When have you seen Ketchup moldy?!

Sherbert means it's a fruit flavor, so that would be why.

good point

I think you can make chocolate or vanilla sherbet. I work at an ice cream shop, and we use neutral flavored sherbert for certain things. It kind of takes like vanilla, but it basically tastes like unflavored creamy ice. But, i think if we can make coffee sherbert, we can make vanilla or chocolate.
