Tea is a natural source of methylxanthines such as caffeine [1], catechins, and theanine. It has almost no carbohydrates, fat, or protein. It has a cooling, slightly bitter and astringent taste.

sweet does not produce a bitter taste. the break down of complex carbs is simple sugars. no carbs means no sugars.

Why do you need proof? Tea is made from leaves. Leaves do not produce sugar. No tea has sugar in it unless you put it there.

No sugar unless added by you

Well, I don't know. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the prepared green tea that you buy in a bottle doesn't have sugar in it unless it's diet, then it would have Nutri-sweet (sp). You could check out Lipton's or Turkey Hill or whatever teas are popular in your area. The only way to be sure it doesn't have sugar in it is to brew it yourself.

There might be some instant tea's with added sugar..but Tea leaves have no sugar.. until you add some.

Unless you add sugar, I don't believe tea contains sugar. But there is some info about what tea is made up of at the below address.

I don't know
