Does chocolate go bad?!

Question:

Does chocolate go bad?

My choclate turned lighter than usual

Answers:
If properly stored, chocolate has an indefinite shelf life. Best stored at room temp. in a sealed container. Bloom is the term for when chocolate gets that chalky lighter color to it. This happens when tha chocolate has been subjected to very quick changes in temp. Bloom doesn't affect the flavor of real chocolate, but can make chocolates that include parafin or other waxes taste funky.

yes

yes it does!

not in my factory it wouldn't that would be if i had a choco factory (but there is a date on the packet) but when i get chocolate it hardly sees day light because i do not store it i EAT IT

Yes, when it gets lighter that means it is old and dried out, garbage! Yuck, pitooie

Iam pretty sure it does... not sure but good question!

I'm sure it's fine. If my chocolate grew white mold, I'd still eat it; it's the green mold one must worry about...or so I've heard from the old neighbor lady when I was a child.

I once had discovered a box of chocolate from the refrigerator that have been frozen for possibly 2 years and they still look the same. I suggest you throw them away if they look chalky. You won't get poisoned or anything. It's just not good to eat it.

yes, it doesnt last forever

Not in my house....lol

it has a life expectancy like all food. Butif its left in sunlight it can get a white film on the top it still tastes the same though
