I am planning to drink energy drinks everyday after work. Are they really bad for you??
Answers:
No Red Bull is my favorite, but just beware once it wears off you get extremely tired. I would drink one in the morning on my way to work, and one at lunchtime and once I got home I would just crash and sleep for over an hour.
i hear that too much caffine can kill you
An acute overdose of caffeine, usually in excess of 400 milligrams (more than 3-4 cups of brewed coffee), can result in a state of central nervous system overstimulation called caffeine intoxication. Some people seeking caffeine intoxication resort to insuffilation (snorting) of caffeine powder, usually finely crushed caffeine tablets. This induces a faster more intense reaction. The symptoms of caffeine intoxication may include restlessness, nervousness, excitement, insomnia, flushing of the face, increased urination, gastrointestinal disturbance, muscle twitching, a rambling flow of thought and speech, irregular or rapid heart beat, and psychomotor agitation.[50][54]
In cases of extreme overdose, death can result. The median lethal dose (LD50) of caffeine is 192 milligrams per kilogram in rats.[55] The LD50 of caffeine in humans is dependent on weight and individual sensitivity and estimated to be about 150 to 200 milligrams per kilogram of body mass, roughly 80 to 100 cups of coffee for an average adult taken within a limited timeframe that is dependent on half-life. Though achieving lethal dose with caffeine would be exceptionally difficult with regular coffee, there have been reported deaths from overdosing on caffeine pills, with serious symptoms of overdose requiring hospitalization occurring from as little as 2 grams of caffeine.[56][57][58][59] Death typically occurs due to ventricular fibrillation brought about by effects of caffeine on the cardiovascular system.
Treatment of severe caffeine intoxication is generally supportive, providing treatment of the immediate symptoms, but if the patient has very high serum levels of caffeine then peritoneal dialysis, hemodialysis, or hemofiltration may be required.
No, they're made from all natural ingredients, I like them drink them, they help me get through my workouts, tab is my favorite.
I like the V drink in the energy drink, but they alway give me a headache. I think I would have try multi vitamin tablet first, I don't having long term energy drinks would good for you.
Too much energy drinks are very bad for you. They are only made for prolonged exercise, or when you are extremely tired. Just like the acid in Coca-Cola can lower your bone density and rot your teeth, energy drinks have a similar effect.
It says on the can that you are only supposed to have a maximum of two a day. This is because a lot of them have gaurana in them, which is WAY more powerful than caffeine.
Not only can you get addicted, but if you stay up for days on something like Red Bull, you can have a heart failure, with a high chance of dying.
In large quantities such as drinking more than 2 energy drinks a day, can cause you to basically overdose on caffine. CAffine overdoses are not a plesant experience and can cause heart palpitations. If you have a history of heart problems in your family, you may want to either limit or stay away from these hardcore caffine drinks. You also have to be careful because overtime your ody will create a tolerance to the leveal of caffine and you will find yourself wanting/needing to drink more and more of these drinks. This is how people can accidently overdose, as their body tells them that one drink isn't enough, and so they have another, but sometimes it is too much for the body to handle.
The easiest way to think about it, as much as I love caffine, but caffine is a drug, and like any drug your body creates a tolerance, not to mention an addiction to caffine.
I love them - I recommend Monster...but I wouldn't drink them EVERYDAY after work. I used to drink them everyday before school, and now my body has created a tolerance, and I need more of it. I also feel as if I can't wake up without one. But on them it says 'Do not exceed 3 cans a day'
Redbull is the greatest of all other energy drinks....it is fit to drink redbull everyday and it gives u great energy.
I work with about half a dozen people that drink XS energy drinks everyday. Some drink about three 8oz cans a day. I've tried some and they're really good and give you a boost. THey also have no sugar, no carbs and about 8calories. redbull, monster etc can't beat that.
