If you put hot water in the freezer does it hurt the freezer?!

Question:

If you put hot water in the freezer does it hurt the freezer?

i am doing my science fair and i need to put hot water in a freezer does it destroy the freezer's function?

Answers:
It wont "hurt" the freezer. However when you put something hot into the freezer the compressor has to work harder to get the temperature of the freezer back down. The compressor will break down quicker this way.

A simple way to avoid this is to put the hot item in the fridge until cool than freeze.

No. Don't worry about it.

no. Your freezer is meant to make hot/warm/room temperature things frozen

No, it won't hurt the freezer, but it will make it work harder.

No, it won't hurt the freezer, but it will make it work harder, and run your energy bill up if you do it often.

No it won't hurt the freezer (unless you fill the freezer completly) but you may cause some premature thawing of frozen foods already in the freezer
