It may just be ruptured viens in your throat depending on how long and hard you have been vomiting. But if it keeps up I would definitely go see a physician.
it means you need to call 911 right now
what does it mean when you have vomit in your blood.
a bleeding muscle ulcer.
If it looks like coffee grounds, it is probably from your stomach (ie ulcer or tumor). If it is a brighter red color, could be an esophageal varice (varicose vein in the throat that broke open) from drinking alcohol...or some other reason (ie tumor?)...
Blood in your vomit could mean you have a small tear in the lining in your stomach which isn't good or you have a small tear in your throat which isn't good either. The best thing to do is go to the doctors or hospital and get it checked out, might not be serious but its better to be safe then sorry.
it means nothing at all. you dont have an ulcer in your stomach or esophagus. you dont have cancer. everybody has blood in their vomit. go to the doctor, stupid!!!
Why is this queston in Non-Alcohloic Drinks?? Go the the ER FOOL!!!
It can be numerous things, but no that none of them are good. You need to go to an emergency room immediately. You could have a bleeding ulcer, and die tomorrow.
Maybe.... Your Bulimic.
That means you need to see a doctor!!! For me, it meant an ulcer, which I had ignored for too long (too stubborn to see a doctor). Considering it is Sunday though, I'll ask a logical question - did you go on a bender this weekend? Have you been vomiting all day? You could have a tear in your esophogus which also needs medical attention. Don't put it off though as you could have a life threatening health condition!
Heartburn and blood in your vomit
Bright red streaks of blood in vomit can be caused by a nosebleed or irritation in your throat when you vomit. This is not serious if there is only a small streak of blood that you are sure came from your mouth or nose.
However, if there is more than a streak of blood, bleeding that continues or you are not sure the blood came from your mouth or nose, evaluation by your health professional is needed.
A moderate to large amount of blood in your vomit indicates bleeding in the upper digestive tract (gastrointestinal, or GI, tract), usually from the esophagus or stomach. Digestive tract bleeding can be caused by inflammation, a craterlike sore in the lining of your stomach or intestine (ulcer), throat irritation from vomiting, or bleeding from enlarged esophageal veins (esophageal varices). If bleeding is severe, the vomit will be mostly blood or partially digested blood, which looks like coffee grounds.
Heartburn can cause bleeding inside the esophagus if persistent heartburn has caused ulcers to form in the esophagus.
Heartburn may occur at the same time as other illnesses (such as peptic ulcer disease or gastritis) that cause ulcers or inflammation in the stomach or the part of the small intestine that connects to the stomach (duodenum). These illnesses may cause abdominal pain and, occasionally, large amounts of blood in the vomit.
