Is it socially exceptable to drink coffee with a straw?!

Question:

Is it socially exceptable to drink coffee with a straw?

Answers:
I don't think it's got anything to do with being socially acceptable, but more along the lines of "do you want to burn your tongue?" acceptable. lol Personally, I really wouldn't mind if someone drank coffee from the cup or with a straw.

I expect it would be too hot to do so even if you wanted to. I guess if it's iced coffee that's ok but otherwise it would be quite strange. I think you should give it a try and just appreciate the weird looks you get.

PS. I live in Australia and i've never seen anyone drink coffee through a straw here; and there aren't people with brown teeth everywhere

Yes. It preserves your teeth, and any socialite would rather see you drink coffee with a straw then talk to them with brown teeth.

I don't know what state you live in--but in WA state-where it rains--oh yeah, drinking thru a lidded cup of coffee-with a stir straw or two in the cup--aok.

coffee was not meant to be sipped with a straw
(you can always buy teeth whitener). Straws are usually made for cold drinks (they used to be made of paper which would melt in hot coffee...and now they are made of plastic which may be meltable as well).

Not for guys but its OK for girls if its out of a Starbucks cup.

OH NO! It would be a travesty for all man-kind!

Definately. You don't have to worry about your teeth getting stained as easily if you use a straw. I do it all the time.

yeah i drink coffee with a straw all the time and don't get strange looks.

If you are drinking out of a cup (most cups you can not see what type of liquid is in it), How are they going to know what you are drinking. So I do not think it makes a difference.

Sure, if you're drinking ice blended coffee. (- -,)

Yes, if it's cold coffee.
