Former caffeine junky?!

Question:

Former caffeine junky?

Ok, I use to drink like 10 cups of coffee a day and I quit because I started getting bad heartburn from it. I quit drinking all caffeine for about a month and now I have switched to tea instead of coffee. But now I am extreemly sensitive to caffeine, I mean I drink about half a cup of tea and I get jittery. What happened? Is this normal?

Answers:
I also went through the same thing six months ago. Had a headache for two full weeks.

It was the best thing I ever could have done for my body. Now I drink Decaf coffee or tea if I want a hot drink. I've noticed that natural green teas do not affect me as other caffeinated drinks do. But I also get the jitters when drinking regular coffee or black teas with caffeine.

You weened yourself from a most powerful drug. Your body will react to new instances of that drug much like a narcotic abuser will react to a new instance of their old habit; in an overpowering sense.

Be glad you did such a wonderful thing for your body. You'll live longer for it. Congratulations!

Don't really know, I would go back to my coffee if I were you.Doesn't tea have more caffeine than coffee anyway? If you aren't having the heart burn with the tea maybe it wasn't the caffeine, try the coffee again.I have to give it to you for quitting......

Some teas have more caffeine that coffee - plus other things that can cause that, check the ingredients carefully - remeber Seinfeld with the Morning Thunder.

this is totally normal.... your system is acting like someone who has never had coffee, if you don't want this reaction then you should have some sort of coffee drink each day,,,, but no coffee is better

Stop drinking decaffeinated drinks!!!! There are plenty of decaffeinated drinks that you can enjoy. Try the decaffeinated coffees and teas. Decaf Green Tea is great. Plus it has alot of antitoxidants. Try decaffeinated soft drinks. You might need to get some Zantac 75 for the heartburn. You can buy it over-the counter. Caffeine cause heatburn. Take care of your body. Good luck!!!
