Is it harmful to drink 2 to 4 litres (4 to 8 pints) of green tea?!

Question:

Is it harmful to drink 2 to 4 litres (4 to 8 pints) of green tea?

I discovered green tea and now I like it so much I can't stop drinking it. I have always had large amounts of water but now I find myself drinking green tea instead of most water.

I know of the benefits of green tea but anything in excess is not good. However, never felt any side effects and never came across any health hazard when searching online.

Please let me know if you find something.

Thanks

that sort of depends on your source of green tea. if you are buying it premade (like liptons or arizona) then it probably has a lot of sugar and not a lot of tea. i would not recommend drinking any of that. if you are brewing it yourself, the only think you need to worry about is caffeine. white tea has less caffeine so you can switch after a glass or two of your favorite green. i strongly recommend buying some quality loose leaf tea. the bagged tea available in the states (if indeed you are in the states) is the shake at the bottom of the worst batches. the difference between a nice boutique tea and packaged name brand tea is immense. check it out for yourself.

Green Tea can lower your blood pressure. That's great news if you have high BP, but if you already have low blood pressure, you might want to limit your intake so it doesn't get too low. This is what I have to do. At one point, I was 70 over 30! Check your BP once in a while to see if it is being affected. If not, you shouldn't have to limit it any more than you would any other caffiene source.

it would be better if it had some anti oxidents in it, but you should worry about the amount of sugar in it, so you should get diet green tea since it has no cholesterol in it (you have to read the label and see how much sugar a regular tea and a diet tea is and see what the difference is).
