Does anyone have any tips on easeing off of caffine from soda pop?!

Question:

Does anyone have any tips on easeing off of caffine from soda pop?

To start out with I drink anywhere from 2-4litters of pop a day, not every day of the month but when i can afford a bottle. I desire to stop. I know of all the benefits of stoping. I have tried before i only made it for a week or 2, and it was pretty bad with my withdrawls, I hated it. I try my best to drink lots of water and other things such as fruit juice and things. If anyone can help with this matter I would deeply appreate it.

Answers:
you gotta cold turkey sodas...you cant ease off the things...youll get a headache for about 2 days but its worth it....YOU GOTTA stop drinking the things...period...no more diet sodas,no high caffiene..none....drink water,Propel,gatorade....if you are jonesing bad,try Green Tea capsules...get them on the vitamin shelf...but you need to listen to an ex Dr Pepper junkie...cold turkey is the only way.....you'll feel better in a couple fo days...in a week you will feel so much better then you will be sooooo tempted to try one...it will make you sick and you will have to cold turkey all over again....good luck..they are worse then cigarettes

Just do it cold turkey

Reduce the amount you drink a little at a time everyday till you get down to where you want to be. I use to drink 9 cans of pop a day. I started by just eliminating a can a day and now I'm down to just one can a day.

its possible to just stop but make sure you replace it with lots of water and fruit juice.
be prepared for a headache for acouple of days. You are actually addicted and your body will go through withdrawl.
Also be extra kind to yourself and treat yourself to yummy food and relaxation to help get past the first week.
Good on you for looking after your health.

just do it cold turkey... its really hard at first, but it will eventually get easier until u stop drinking sidas or hardly drink them at all...

i too had been a pop a holic. it was because of my work place didn,t have windows and it had 24 washer and dryers the big ones. it told 2years to get over it.water dosen,t work.that is a myth, now what i did is the juice but what i did defiantly is drink hazelnut hot chocolate from Tim's Horton's,so you have a flavor you like and it dosen,t have as much of the caffine.when i started the hot chocolate trick i was of in 2 months maybe less. flavored hot chocolate, is the secret. it worked for me. good luck. from a formmer popahalic, peter.b

For years, starting in college, I drank anywhere between 3 and 8 cans of Diet Coke a day. Every day! And if I wasn't drinking Diet Coke, I was drinking coffee.

Now I don't drink any caffeine pop, and my coffee consumption is limited to either decaf or the "lite" (half-the-caffeine) coffees.

For me, in order to prevent headaches and other withdrawl symptoms, I chose a gradual reduction method. I started buying decaf versions of both the Diet Coke and coffee in addition to the "real things." And I was careful to sometimes drink the caffeine-free stuff, especially in the afternoons and evenings because my motivation to reduce caffeine was my recurring insomnia. It took me several months, maybe even more than a year, but I eventually I stopped buying the caffeinated versions of soda and coffee altogether. You could do the same thing, except instead of buying caffeine-free soda, buy fruit juice and/or gradually increase your water-to-soda ratio.

Good luck! It can be done! My results have lasted for about 7 or 8 years now.

Ah, hell that's easy!
Just start drinking Green Tea! It's got a lot less caffeine, so that helps, and the antioxidants will flush your system of your cravings!
Just ignore the sugar stuffs!
And it is inherently satisfying in it's comsumption - And you can drink as much as you want!
Lived in Japan, before - They ALL do it there, for good reason!

It might be the fact you just need to drink something, try some water in a bottle. They have carbonated water too. Habits are hard to break when you get older. good luck.

well why don't you try buying smaller bottles and cut it down slowly over two or three weeks - by which time, you should be having only a mouthful, a couple of times a day - this will then minimize the withdrawls
don't forget to drink lots of extra water - go for it and good luck!
