Do alcoholic drinks have any relation to rubbing alcohol?!

Question:

Do alcoholic drinks have any relation to rubbing alcohol?

Answers:
There are 3 types of alcohol. Ethanol, Methanol and Isopropanol. Ethanol is in alcoholic drinks, mouthwashes, cologne etc. Methanol is in cleaning fluid, windshield washer fluid, copier duplicating fluid, it is toxic, Isopropanol is in rubbing alcohol it is also toxic.

They are not the same thing....although they both have sterilizing qualities to them....in a pinch if you have an open wound or something that needs to sterilized then you could pour a little gin or vodka onto it and it will clean it the same....drinking the vodka however will not sterilize anything.......except your esophagus

Most rubbing alcohol brands use 'isopropanol'. The kind of alcohol you drink is 'ethanol'. Isopropanol is a larger molecule, but shares some of the chemical properties of ethanol. However it is not at all safe to drink.

Isopropanol is also called 'isopropyl alcohol'; and ethanol is also called 'ethyl alcohol'. It's a different naming convention. There are actually many different alcohols out there; an alcohol is just a broad category of chemicals that share a similar functional group of atoms (called a hydroxyl group). Ethanol is the only one used in alcoholic drinks.

Some brands actually do use ethanol in their rubbing alcohols; however they also include other toxic chemicals, and so should not be ingested.

Alcoholic drinks contain ethyl alcohol, a.k.a. ethanol or "grain alcohol".
Rubbing alcohol is usually isopropyl alcohol, a.k.a. isopropanol, which is highly toxic if swallowed. Sometimes, it's denatured ethyl alcohol, which means it has toxic ingredients added.
There are several different kinds of alcohol, but only ethanol is safe to drink (in moderation).
