Starbucks in China sure seem strange to me how about you?!

Question:

Starbucks in China sure seem strange to me how about you?

There are a lot of starbucks in china now and I thought the chinese were tea drinkers.

What realy do not understand is that the coffee is very expensive compared to local coffee that I think is just as good. Why pay so much for the name?

Answers:
It's the same everywhere in the world....I can pay $1.43 for a cofee at Tim Hortons, or $5.64 for a coffee at Starbucks

I think Americans were tea drinkers once. Ever heard of the 'Boston Tea Party'? China is catching up.

Starbucks is very seldom find in China, they have a few scattered in the big cities. Remember that a small nuber of people has alot of cash in China and they like to spend it on something. I had the best cappuccino in China, and it was NOT starbucks.

Fot the person below me, there is very few in China. China has 1.300 000 000 persons. For every Starbuck there is 5.000 000 people. In the US there is 100 times more Starbucks per capita. There is 1 Starbucks for 50.000 people.

It's not just the name. It's for convenience and taste. Local coffee shops aren't usually on every corner, or supermarket, or the mall. Starbucks usually tastes really good, and it's right where you need it. That's why people pay for it.

And, for the person above me...
