Why does my coffee taste weird?!

Question:

Why does my coffee taste weird?

So I opened up this bag of coffee about two weeks ago, and when I made a cup, it tasted great. It was bitter, but not the usual cheap-$5-coffee-thats-been-sit... I could actually get used to it (but I put sugar and cream in it anyways). Now every time I make a cup, it tastes a little more like the unpleasant bitterness, and it's starting to get kind of acidic too. Does this have to do with the bag the coffee is stored in (not airtight), or is it just me because I'm getting used to the taste? I've been brewing it the same way everytime, 6oz to a cup.

Answers:
You should always seal your coffee in an airtight container. Never freeze coffee once it has been opened. Also, it isn't recommended to drink coffee after it has been opened for around 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, it really loses its flavor drastically. I suggest that you should buy a smaller bag if that's possible, so you will have it used up before 2 weeks.

coffee should be stored in the freezer to retain freshness; it is losing some of its flavor exposed to the air ; also your coffee maker may need to be cleaned by running it through with vinegar and water mixture and brew and then brew again thereafter with just plain water to remove the vinegar .

Perhaps the quality of your water is going downhill. Try bottled water and see if it makes a difference.

First off i'd say go get some better coffee www.gevalia.com
Second you may need to clean your coffee maker, also even if the coffee is not sealed air tight which is best, keep it in the fridge. hope it helps
