Are energy drinks really better for you than soda?!

Question:

Are energy drinks really better for you than soda?

That seems really farfetched but I overheard one girl at work (I wouldn't trust her with anything) who was yelling and screaming at a poor guy because he didn't believe her claim. From what I have read and heard about them, the opposite seems to be true.

Answers:
No energy drinks are worse because many are loaded with just as much as, if not more sugar per ounce then pop (depending on the brand- which will contribute to weight gain) and they all have more caffeine then ANY pop. In fact 1 can of the average energy drink has more caffeine in it the 2 caffeine pills.
The worst part is that while they give you a short burst of energy, because it is in the form of sugar and caffeine, you will "crash" afterwords, when your energy burst wears off you will feel even more tired, and caffine actually dehydrates you like alcohol does.

Any vitamins that are added to energy drinks can be found in natural forms in many other sources including food and juice (that will give you a more constant suply of energy to get you through your day) and because they are natually occuring your body will absorb them better then the synthetic vitamins fortified into the energy drink.
I would avoid energy drinks all together personally and only drink pop as a treat.

No, they are just as bad for you....and they taste like crap.

they may have less sugar but theyre worse for your kidneys than sodas

More Sugar and Lots Of Caffeine

it depends to what kind of energy drinks or soda you're buying...you can always check on the Nutrients Info labeled at the back of the product, you can compare the amount of calories, sugar content, caffeine level, etc.

its debatable, lets just say that water is better ; )

well you could say that soda has empty calories while energy drinks have vitamins, but you could say that all the chemicals in the energy drinks can hurt kidneys

Most energy drinks contain a lot of thing that can harm your body like caffeine and sugar so some are worse for you then soda. Sugar rotts your teeth

yes sure
