drink from 1960 era or so that is non alcohol, seems to have had cherries and 7- up in it! would like recipe if anyone has one

My uncle used to make us Shirley Temples. All he used was 7Up and a cherry. Here is a different Shirley Temple recipe.
INGREDIENTS
1/4 cup lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
1 1/2 tablespoons grenadine syrup
1 maraschino cherry
DIRECTIONS
In a highball glass, over ice, combine lemon-lime soda and grenadine. Stir well and garnish with a maraschino cherry.
