I bought some papayas yesterday for the first time?!

Question:

I bought some papayas yesterday for the first time?

Do you discard the seeds or eat them? Also, I found the flesh rather tasteless - any recommendations what to do with this fruit?

Answers:
discard the seeds.
if the papaya is still crispy and not ripe
u can consider cutting them into thin slices and soak them in vinegar and chilli
it will become crispy, sweet and sour.
very asia!

discard the seeds if the fruit is ripe it gives sweet taste

As far as you buying a papaya for the first time: pin a rose on your nose. As far as papayas being tasteless, all you have to do is make a pie out of them. Use the same seasonings as you would in a pumpkin pie. An bake it the same way.

They are generally removed, but you can eat the seeds, I have seen them used in some breads, and vinaigrettes

They make a good salsa. Try putting it into a smoothie, or mix with other fruits in a fruit sallad. It is also good dehydrated, kind of concentrates the flavors/sugars.

(search google and I am sure there will be plenty of recipes if you need them)

Papaya is somewhat bland compared to other fruits we are used to here in the US, but it is very benificial. It is great for aiding digestion.

Cut the papaya in half lenghtwise, scoop out the seeds with a spoon as well as any thin white membrane you see on the inner surface. It can be peeled, cut into bite size pieces & served chilled,if it is tastless it is possinle that it was not totally ripe or not of top quality, try sprinkling a little sugar to improve the taste.,it is equally good served with ice cream or with a little cream poured over.

It is normal to discard the seeds of a papaya. Actually a papaya flesh is often taste sweet and very nice to eat. If your papaya is tasteless may be the papaya that you have was harvested when it is not ripe yet.

nice?

definately dont eat the seeds, peel and dice it then sprinkle the juice of fresh lime on top. lovely

I've had a few of them recently as I understand they are the best fruit for your health. You must wait until they are ripe, sort of yellow/green mottled. You can dry and eat the seeds, although 3 days in the airing cupboard didn't dry mine!

I too found it tasteless, boring & messy. My recommendation is not to bother!!

Crushed and rubbed into the groin at midnight on a full moon is a great cure for crabs.
