Why does the pot call the kettle black?!

Question:

Why does the pot call the kettle black?

Answers:
That's because hasn't taken a good look at himself/herself,most likely equally black from wood fire soot ,i guess. These days with bright & shiny utensils what would the pot call the kettle, another name, another colour, wonder if would still have the same meaning.

has to call it something

and dunno why? Wait a second???? 0_o....uh.....no I still dont know why?

It's a hypocrite.

cos it's racist

Yes this old saying still goes. It is nothing racial at all . It's simply a statement that means your saying or accusing someone of doing something that your guilty of yourself.

just an old saying that means don't judge others when ur guilty too.

If you are curious about the origin of this saying, it refers to the past when most people were using cast iron cookware, which is black in color. Saying that someone was the "pot calling the kettle black" was a way of saying that someone was accusing someone else of being the same thing they are or doing the same thing, as both the pot AND the kettle are black.
Not sure why you have put this under the catagory of non- alcoholic drinks, though.....

because the pot is a hypocrite
