well I myself have an problem with caffiene and the fruit teas are expensive.. so I just slice up apples, oranges, lemons, etc leaving on the skins.. through in some cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, etc and let this steep in boiled water (I dont boil the water with the fruit, as it actually cooks it and makes mush).. just add the fruit to the pre boiled hot water with spices.. let it steep for 5 min or more, then add your favorite sweetner, or honey.. I drink this before going to bed or on a cold winter day..
make chai.
Why not just buy Stash flavoured herbal teas? I like to add herbs to them--including catnip--which is a soothing relaxant that dulls pain and helps you sleep. It gets rid of nervousness and clears the head. Totally harmless and full of vitamins, apparently. Coriander is a good stimulant. Chamomile settles the stomach. I would like to get my hands on some fresh real hyssop, which is good for clearing the throat and lungs.
I also like a little basel and rosemary to infuse herbal teas. Chamomile with licorice spice, chamomile and peppermint, Earl Grey tea with Moroccan mint, lemon and green tea--all good combinations. You can also infuse herbal tea with lime, coriander, fennel seeds, caraway and cinnamon sticks.
to make tea, u need the tea and u need the fruit that you like when u have both just mike them together.example u take the tea and lemon, you squeeze the lemon into the tea cup and you have lemon tea.
All you need to do is chop the fruit finely enough for the hot water to infuse through. You will need to play a bit to reach your favourite flavour combination and remember that when you buy fruit teas they often have extra natural or artificial flavour concentrates added so that they taste stronger.
Try adding slivers of orange, lime, mandarin or lemon peel, spices such as cinnamon bark, cloves, aniseeds or fennel seeds to lift the aroma. Leave the fruit to infuse (soak in the hot water) for at least 5 minutes (probably a bit more).
If you have a dehydrator or can purchase dehydrated fruit to your liking, you can make the blend up in advance and store it.
