What happens when you put a mento in diet coke?

it really fizzes.
all of the sugar in the mentos reacts with the carbonated water and causes a great big fountain of diet coke. the best way to drop them in, is to make a paper funnel, put the mentos in it, and then drop them all in at once. then run. we did this in my chemistry class, and it was really cool. plus, it should work with any soda.
Do we have to go through this again??

They just did an episode of Mythbusters that was all about that. Go to Discovery.com to see if you can find highlights from the episode. Or... buy a 2-liter of diet coke, a pack of mentos, and have at it in an open field or parking lot!
