Answers:
yes, the articficial sweeteners they use are like poison. none of it is good for you. your better off drinking normal soda with natural sugars, rather than artificial.

my father.
and info websites.
I hope not.
Well, some people say that, because of the artificial ingredients it's bad for you, but scientists are still debating.
too much of anything with addiditives is not good for you as far as diet soda the sugar substitute and the caffeine in large quantities over time will affect your organs just as any other chemical
diet soda still has sugar. it's just a diet version of the REALLY bad soda, so just drink water or juice if you want to be healthy
The caffeine is dangerous, in diet coke and diet pepsi, because caffeine can eat up your bones.
yes. they still have tons of sugar and still have lots of SODIUM, wich is SALT
NO
I just asked my doctor this very question a few days ago. She asked me please not to consume more than 2 a day. You see I REALLY love the stuff and have at least 4 or 5 a day. She says that the fake sugar can be harmful over time.
well the sweet stuff they use in it kills rats....does that answer your question
ive been seeing on the news that diet soda makes you gian weight, theres somehting in it thats worse than regular soda
yes they can be. Saccharin, which was a sweetner in the 80's and early 90's is now found out to be causing cancer. Drink Water!
and Diet soda DOES NOT have sugar, thats what makes it diet in addition to low/no calories. Also the sodium is minimal. Its the preservatives to worry about
yes.... artificial sweeteners are far worse than regular sugar..... some artificial sweeteners were developed to kill insects..... look up some of them on your computer...
i don't really trust that "fake sugar" also, i believe carbonated beverages are beginning to be linked to osteoporosis. Unless you are diabetic, regular soda, once in a while is better than tons of diet soda in my book. If you are looking for a fizzy drink, try some perrier and a few drops of juice, or a squirt of lime. Has just enough flavor, and a bit of fizz, and it's much better for you
Diet soda is okay ot drink in moderation. However it contains a substance called aspartame. Aspartame is a fake sugar that obviously gives you that taste real pop does. In a long period of consuming much diet pop yo can develop certain symtoms from aspartame. Nothing has occured yet but some scientists believe it can lead to brain tumours and cancer.
Even though they are yummy, they are actually harmful in the long run. The artificial sweetener in diet soda has been linked to gaining weight and the theory behind it is that the your body doesn't know how to handle the fake sugar so you natural ability to feel hungry or full may change.
Also, the carbonation in the soda has been show to be very harmful on your stomach lining in the long run. Basically, it erodes your stomach.
Sorry for the bad news....:(
Yes!! Diet and regular sodas both do. High Fructose Corn Syrup is bad, bad, bad as well as sucralose and splenda. Can cause gall stones, kidney and liver problems, heart disease, etc. Any genetically or chemically altered product that we consume is carcinogenic. Thank the FDA. They lie to us all the time!!
they don't give your body a lot nutritions and they can make you to belch.
Yes, they usually are . For example, many of those sodas still contain, caffeine which can make you dehydrated and/or depressed. (Despite popular belief, caffeine is actually a depressant, not a stimulant, in the long run.) Drinking a lot of soda can make you chronically dehydrated, which can ALSO cause depression, fatigue, and headaches. Also, there are some medical professionals who think that drinking any kind of soda may slightly increase your risk of getting cancer. For example, certain kinds of artificial sweeteners and dyes are known to do exactly this.
Drinking soda on a regular basis can also increase blood pressure, which puts many people at a greater risk for having heart attacks.
i dont think so and why would it be harmful
Scientists aren't debating. Soda is bad for you! Diet Soda's have something called aspartame, which is a substitute sugar. The thing is that aspartame is also a neuro-toxin. That's why it has that sweet affect on your brain. Everything you eat after taking aspartame will taste sweet too.
But the problem is that it damages and confuses your neurons and even kills brain cells.
So it's just like taking drugs.
I personally love soda. But I gave it up. I drink it once in a while but water is my best friend.
Yes they are. the sugars from regular sodas are replaced by aspartame which has been known to cause some cancers and multiple scerlosis. they also have a higher salt content. plus the phosphoric acid contained in a single can of soda will kill you. it takes 32 glasses of water to neutralize it.
yes coke is a lot of acids and salts diet pepsi lots of salts now about phenols the little red letters on the back of the conntainers kidney beans are used to make nutra-sweet however its an unstable chemical that breaks down into an oily esther alcohol and thats not good it can harm brain cells and other organs , and caffeine can block absorption of calcium to the bones and withdrawals can be migraines and worse
I don't touch the stuff it's gross.
Yes, because you are drinking something with an added chemical. By the way, as others on here are saying incorrectly, diet soda does not have sugar unless you're talking about caramel color. And it definitely does not have a lot of sodium. Pepsi has 20mg of sodium a serving which is a very small amount. Diet Pepsi has 25 mg of sodium a serving. It is all on the label.
Maybe. Diet drinks are low in calories, so that's good; but, the artificial sweeteners cause an insulin response just as if you were having sugar.
When you have a "naturally" sweet drink whether it be fruit juice, sweetened with sugar, fructose or corn syrup, there is a sudden increase of sugar in your blood stream. The pancrease reacts by releasing a surge of insulin. The insulin captures the sugar and converts it to energy. What can't be used, is stored in fat cells causing them to engorge. Now, if you're physically active and depending on other dietary factors, doing this once in a while isn't bad. However, a long pattern of insulin surges, spikes and valleys in blood sugar, along with fat and a sedentary lifestyle can lead to type 2 diabetes, which can be very serious. Of course, we're not saying that this will happen to everyone, but it is a risk.
Now, it is a fact that diet sodas with artificial sweeteners cause the same insulin surge in the body as do those spikes in blood sugar. Only in this case, the insulin rushes out to capture the sugar only to find there is nothing there. So, what does the insulin do? It hangs around in your blood stream in elevated levels. Over time, the theory is that the pancreas will get tired of your body calling "wolf." When the blood actually does contain high levels of sugar, then the insulin won't respond to the call. Mecically speaking, this would be the onset of type two diabetes.
From a diet perspective, it has been observed that people that drink diet soft drinks may also be fooled into thinking, well that cola was zero calories, so I can have the extra whatever for dessert. So, some people drinking diet colas, if they lack the discipline, may actually gain weight.
Medical science still hasn't proven a link to diabetes and artificial sweeteners, but the insulin reaction described is a fact and it does mess with your insulin levels causing less insulin to be produced when you actually need it.
Jury's still out on diet soda.
Your best diet drinks? Unsweetened green tea and water. If you're on a diet, it's better to eat your fruit than drink it.
depends on who you ask i say no but what ever if you die you die we were all born to die
Gosh, YES! I wish people understood this!
The artificial sweetener aspertine is a hundred times worse for you than real sugar. Your body doesn't know how to digest fake sugars properly.
I once saw an article in a science magazine that said that every diet coke you drink shaves 9 seconds off your life. I don't know about you but I figure those accumulated 9 seconds will really mean something some day.
I don't think so, but it just has a bad taste.
