Is honey healthier then sugar?!

Question:

Is honey healthier then sugar?

Specifically I'm wondering about it's use in black teas, I use about 3-4 teapsoons of either, just curious if it made a difference to your body?

Answers:
honey is nature's sugar...

Healthier than sugar.

pure, natural honey is better for you.

Honey is healthier

Yes, supposedly it has nutrients in it left over from flower nectar

P.S. sugar is healthier than any synthetic chemical substitute

Honey is not healthy. You are healthy (maybe). Honey is healthful. And it's "than" here, not then.

Definately yes since it's all natural

Until the advent of cane based sugars in the mid 1600's the incidences of diabetes was almost unknown.

Honey was often considered as food of the gods and only the royal families had any amount.

Common folk possessing honey were supposed to turn it over to the govt. Like now only they call it money instead of honey.

yes,it is more natural

yes
Use unpasteurized honey for best health results.

uhm... sorry, but I'm not sure....
A random guess: Yes, it's natural... or partly... It depends on what type of sugar it is... some sugar has no calories, and that is healthier than some other sugars.........

Honey is natural as opposed to sugar which is refined.
You might want to try Maple Syrup or Maple Sugar available at the Health Food Store. Also Date sugar is good. But of course these are more expensive that just regular sugar. Stevia is natural and extremely low in carbs and calories. The liquid is best. Expensive.

When I drink tea, I can't imagine putting any other sweetener in it than honey.

Have you ever noticed that good honey never goes bad in the cabinet? Mold never grows on the surface because it has anti-bacterial properties.

We love Tupelo Honey and have used it for years, it doesn't granulate like other honeys, and is actually better for diabetics because the glucose level is lower than other honeys...in fact this would be a health benefit for anyone, as the less glucose, the less dramatic blood sugar highs and lows you experience.

The bee keepers put the hives in such a way so that the bees get most of their nectar from the blossoms of the Tupelo Tree, thereby ensuring the right kind of honey in the hive.

If you purchase a honey with Tupelo on the label, and it granulates, you have not purchased true Tupelo, or the bees have had other blossoms available to them so Tupelo has been "watered down" by other nectar's.

I hope this helps a bit, and that you've read it while enjoying a nice cup of tea with honey :-)

Of course it is. How many fat bees do you see? The only bees that are fat are the queens, and that's only because they pop out thousands of kids a year. So...statistically speaking, there is a bee obesity rate of 0.001%, compared to that of Americans, who eat sugar regularly, where the obesity rate is about 35%.

Using this anecdotal evidence, we can all conclude that honey is better for you than sugar.

I would assume that it is because it is natural. Sugar is man made or man manufactured. It wouils stand to reason that the bees have the advantage.

raw unprocessed honey is, yes. Any other kind actually has sugar in it

honey is healthier

yes, very much so but don't over do it like anything else take it a little at a time that is very important

you know what!?? my 3 year old and i drink tea everynight and i NEVER use sugar in it for either of us we use honey
