Is it ok for pregnant women to drink herbal teas?!

Question:

Is it ok for pregnant women to drink herbal teas?

Answers:
My wife was told to stay away from certain teas. I think Ginseng was one of them. Ask your doctor. The teas that basically flavored water, but no additional properties, are usually fine. Still, ask a doctor.

As long as they have no caffeine.. Caffeine is bad for pregnant women!

They are better than tea and coffee....and raspberry leaf tea is supposed to help ease the pain of labour. I'm not sure if that is an old wives tale, but it's got to be worth a go.

I think it would depend on which herbs are in the tea. I'm no doctor, but I know that there are some herbs which pack quite a jolt. I was surprised when I found out that herbal teas like "Red Zinger" can increase your heart rate and have other potentially dangerous side-effects. I'd check with a doctor.

why not?

Some herbal teas are dangerous during pregnancy. Best to consult you doctor first.

i think is better to becareful, not too take too much each day.

i think you should becareful with rosemary

it is a water base drink, but doctors recommend that you avoid caffeine while being pregnant
