Water filter question?!

Question:

Water filter question?

I have a pur water filter. Does water filters filter out floride?

Answers:
To remove floride/chlorine you would have to add a carbon filter to your distiller.
Water distillers treat water for a host of contaminants and pollutants, including those that are unable to travel out of the boiling chamber with the steam like sediment, metals and biological contaminants. When combined with activated carbon filtration, water distillers can effectively treat for the following contaminants:

・ Arsenic
・ Asbestos
・ Atracine (Herbicides/Pesticides)
・ Benzene
・ Flouride
・ Lead
・ Mercury
・ Nitrate
・ Trichloroethylene (TCE)
・ Trihalomethanes
・ Radium
・ Radon
・ Biological Contaminants (Bacteria, Viruses and Water-borne cysts like Cryptosporidium)

In addition, a water distillation system with activated carbon filtration can also be quite effective for treating aesthetic (taste and odor) drinking water contaminants like chlorine or iron bacteria, which lead to unpleasant tastes, odors, or colors.

Water distillation is an effective process for producing highly treated drinking water. However, it is recommended that only water distillers designed and tested for health-contaminant reduction be used for such purposes.
Hope this helps.
