Someone told me today that drinking robitussin is like taking acid. has anyone ever done this? How much of the stuff do you have to drink? Drink it on a full or empty stomach?

Basically you're kind of not right. Acid and DXM are different and have two different effects -you really can't compare the two. IF you decide to drink the robitussin to trip you should remember to buy the 'Tussin DM(I think that's the right one). Check the bottle's active ingredients and make sure the only drug is DXM or DXMHbR. Have fun.

Someone lied to you. You're pretty stupid for even taking the time to write this question out. At least you tried to do some research before frying your brain.
Robutussin just makes you sleepy, like every other cough medicine. Some people feel this reaction more strongly than others, and depending on whether its a daytime or nightime formula you can feel really hyper, or very sluggish.
There's no point in trying to drink enough to feel stoned, however. You'll either throw it up before you ever get close, or end up in the hospital getting your stomach pumped so you don't die.
