Answers:
Very finely ground dark roast coffee can substitute. French roast is a pretty good one to try- just make sure it is very very fine.

Have you checked a local coffee shop or even your supermarket? A lot of them have grinders right in them. You can buy espresso beans and have them finely ground right there. Good luck!

You can just use instant coffee, but slightly more than the espesso required, if it calls for 1 teaspoon, use 2, I was a Chef in Canada for 20 yrs and when the pastry department made anything Mocha or Coffee flavoured that was all they used, regular instant coffee, if you can find say Maxwell House or Tasters Choice, dark roast it will be better, even the discount and dollar stores sell a small jars, I have even seen they sell espresso powder, check around, you can use it in other things.
