Does coffee really give you energy and wake you up?!

Question:

Does coffee really give you energy and wake you up?

I ask because peronally all it makes me does is take massive dumps.

Answers:
coffee is a stimulant that gives a burst of energy and then relaxes you. (Yes, it stimulates your bowels!) My brother is hyperactive and uses coffee to calm him down. The stimulation is in the brain and it makes his body produce it's under produced calming chemical. (I don't know the technical terms any more but it works!) I drink coffe in the evening to help me sleep. To much caffine can constipate!

An apple is a more efficient way of waking you up in the morning. Try that instead.

I gave up caffeinated coffee after the New Year (although I had a 1/3 of a cup the other day) and I have felt more energy than in the past. It has also helped me lose weight. I suspect it's different for different people.

That is because it is also a diuretic, meaning that it makes you take massive dumps. If you were to drink coffee on a regular basis, you would get over that in two or three days. Sometimes I get so jittery, I take shaky poops. If I really want a good cleansing, I'll smoke a filterless cigarette with that!

Yes because of the caffine. But if Caffine doesnt wake you up then no!

it makes me sleepy

I drank a whole pot of it, and I immediately fell asleep!

It give you fast energy but then it makes you tired once it wears off. I am adhd so it actually makes me more tired.
