How do you read expiration dates on the bottom of coke cans?!

Question:

How do you read expiration dates on the bottom of coke cans?

im having a debate with my dad and on the bottom it says: APR010708NFW and i think it is an old can saying april 2001 and my dad says it expires april 1, 2007. give me avidence for the answer!!

Answers:
It is read month then the day then the year. I read the date, because I don't want to get sick, and I don't like the taste of expired pop (soft drink).

I think you might be right. Month and then year.

Your dad is probably right on this one. Email Coke and see if they will tell you.

u r dad's right! Use logic. How can something edible expire during a whole month. There has to be a date for the expiration. By ur standard does it mean it expires when April starts or does it expire at the end of April? U can be right too only if the can was produced in April of 2001 but then again it must have a production date not just a month.

Coke cans did not come with expiration dates until recently, ask your parents their Coke cans never expired, this is a marketing gimmick to make you drink all the Coke you buy before time's up and buy more- increasing consumption is the bottom line.

Coke is not a fresh drink it is chemicals, artificial coloring and sugar,it is not going to sour like milk, I never bother reading the expiration dates.

Your dad is right.

It's April 01, 07 if it were April 23, it would read APR2307

April 01, 2007
Listen to your dad. He is correct.
APR obviously means April.
The first 2 numbers are the date.
The last 2 numbers are the last to numbers of the year (07 = 2007).

usually the first 3 digits tell you the expiration date.
